Pro Profile Content (optional)

When you create or contribute to a player's Pro Profile, we additionally process:

• Player pitch and agent/representative contact details (name, email, phone) that you choose to publish on the profile;
• Uploaded media and documents — photographs, highlight video links, and PDF files you submit;
• Combine measurements — self-reported physical attributes such as height, weight, wingspan, vertical jump, and similar athletic data (these may constitute biometric or physical-categorisation data and are treated as sensitive where applicable);
• Payment metadata — your Stripe customer identifier and subscription status, used to link the Pro Profile to your subscription.

Pro Profile data relates to the player being promoted, who may be a third party. By submitting it, you confirm you are authorised to do so (see our Terms of Service).

We use your personal information to:

• Provide, maintain, and improve our services
• Process payments and manage your subscription
• Send you important updates and communications
• Personalize your experience and provide relevant content
• Analyze usage patterns to improve our platform
• Protect against fraud and unauthorized access
• Comply with legal obligations

As part of our community service, we may occasionally send you emails about events, training camps, skills camps, coaching clinics or similar activities organized by Scoutbasketball partners or paying members. These communications are always sent by Scoutbasketball — we never share your contact details with the third party. You can opt out at any time using the unsubscribe link in any marketing email.

Under GDPR, we process your data based on:

• Contract: To fulfill our contractual obligations to you (including providing your Pro Profile subscription)
• Consent: When you opt-in to marketing or cookies, and when you submit Pro Profile content (including any sensitive physical-categorisation data such as combine measurements)
• Legitimate Interest: To improve our services and prevent fraud, and to publish publicly observable sports performance data for scouting and journalism purposes
• Legal Obligation: To comply with applicable laws

We do not sell your personal information. We may share your data with:

• Service Providers: Stripe (payments), Google Analytics, Sentry (error monitoring)
• Legal Requirements: When required by law or to protect our rights

We retain your personal information based on specific retention periods:

• Account Data: Retained while your account is active, plus 3 years after account closure for legitimate business purposes and legal compliance
• Payment Records: Retained for 7 years to comply with tax and accounting regulations
• Usage Analytics: Aggregated data retained indefinitely; individual usage data retained for 2 years
• Marketing Consent: Retained until you withdraw consent, plus 1 year for audit purposes
• Support Communications: Retained for 3 years after resolution
• Pro Profile Content: Retained while the Pro Profile is active, plus 3 years after it is deactivated or the subscription ends, for legitimate business purposes and dispute resolution. Uploaded media files are deleted from storage after this period.
• Security Logs (login IPs): Retained for 90 days, then anonymized to a /24 subnet (IPv4) or /48 prefix (IPv6) for indefinite security analytics. Account deletion immediately removes all associated activity records.

You can request deletion of your account at any time by contacting us. After deletion, some data may be retained in anonymized or aggregated form for analytics purposes.

Under GDPR and other applicable laws, you have the right to:

Our platform publishes information about basketball players of all ages who participate in public competitions. This includes player profiles with names, statistics, and game performance data that is publicly observable at sporting events.

This information is collected from publicly available sources, competition organizers, and official statistics providers. We process this data based on legitimate interest for sports journalism and scouting purposes.

For user accounts, our service is not directed to children under 16. We do not knowingly allow children under 16 to create accounts. If you believe your child has provided us with personal information through account registration, please contact us at contact@scoutbasketball.com and we will take steps to delete such information.

Pro Profile content of minors: If a player promoted through a Pro Profile is under 14 years of age, the account holder submitting the content must have the consent of a parent or legal guardian, as required by Spanish law (LOPDGDD) and the GDPR. Guardians may request access to, correction of, or deletion of their child's data at any time by contacting us.
